“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.  Instead, a lamp is placed on a  stand, where it give light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”  (Matthew 5:14-16)

The local church is called to be an active and engaging instrument of God in our communities.  Matthew 5 commands his church to go and be flavorful salt and bright light in this present day so that God will be glorified.  We are commanded to do good works that help and assist those in need, that proclaim the truth about the transforming power of Jesus Christ in a life, and that break down barriers to share the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. The people of Harvest Bible Chapel seek to be salt and light in our communities by doing good works in order to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
